● BETWEEN WEEKS
This week's hunt is not confirmed yet
The Festival Playlist has rolled over and we have not verified the new location yet. Rather than guess, this space stays empty until we have a sourced answer. The hunts we have logged are still below.
Browse the archiveThis week, once we have it
Written so it stands on its own — you should not have to click through to find out where to drive. If you are reading this on a phone with the game paused, everything you need is in this section.
Nothing goes in this section until a location has a source behind it. The last hunt we logged, its clue and its sources are all in the archive in the meantime.
Four things here answer to “treasure”
One of them is what this site tracks. The other three are why the forum threads never converge — a fix for one does nothing for another, and people quote them at each other anyway.
The distinction that does the most work is not the names, it is whether a thing is attached to the Festival Playlist. Only the weekly hunt is. Treasure Cars have been out there since launch and hand the car over for driving up to it; Barn Finds sit behind Explorer Stamp tiers and then make you wait for the repair, or pay to skip it. Neither ever ticks a Playlist entry, however many you collect.
The naming does the rest of the damage. Collect all nine Treasure Cars and the achievement you unlock is called Treasure Hunter — a phrase with nothing to do with the Treasure Hunt. Getting that pop-up and concluding the weekly hunt is broken is a short trip.
As for the paid map: Both storefronts list "Treasure Chests" among the things the paid Treasure Map reveals, and then say in the next breath that it will not reveal Festival Playlist seasonal collectables. So either there is a permanent chest collectible separate from the weekly hunt, or the two sentences in the same paragraph disagree with each other. We have not been able to settle which, and we are not going to pick the reading that makes a tidier page. What we can say without hedging, because both storefronts print it in the same paragraph, is that buying it will not put this week's chest on your map.
If none of the four describes what you are looking at, the symptom-by-symptom version goes further, including the cases where we had to write down that we do not know.
- Xbox Store — Forza Horizon 6 Treasure Map — the official list of what the paid map reveals, and the line excluding Festival Playlist seasonal collectables
- Steam — Forza Horizon 6 Treasure Map — the same product wording on a second storefront, word for word
- PowerPyx — all Treasure Car locations — nine Treasure Cars, available from the start, purple map icon, and the achievement they unlock being called Treasure Hunter
- PowerPyx — all Barn Find locations — fifteen Barn Finds, the Explorer Stamp tiers that gate them, and the restoration wait
- Windows Central — all 9 Treasure Cars — the count of nine, independently of PowerPyx
- ScreenRant — Hokubu Region Treasure Hunt (Billy Givens, 30 Jul) — this week being the third week of the Italian Exotics series, and the chest sitting directly beside a building
- GamesRadar — Hokubu Treasure Hunt — the hay bale scarecrows being the detail the photo hinges on, and that you cannot fast travel directly to the spot
Previously logged hunts
Each entry keeps whatever was actually recorded — clue, location, reward — plus where it came from. Blanks stay blank. “Re-checked” means we went and looked; “sourced only” means we are relaying someone else’s find and saying so.
Asked about this page
Six questions people arrive on the front page with. The troubleshooting guide answers different ones, and deliberately so — six pages running the same five questions is its own kind of tell.
Where is the FH6 Treasure Hunt this week?
The Playlist has rolled over and we have not verified the new chest yet. The front page fills in as soon as we have a sourced answer rather than a plausible one.
What is the clue text for this week?
The same sentence as every other week: “Follow the Photo Clue to Discover the Treasure!” The wording has not changed on any hunt we have on record, so there is no riddle to decode — the photograph is the whole puzzle.
Does the paid Treasure Map show the weekly Treasure Hunt?
No. Its own store listing says it will not reveal the locations of Seasonal Collectables featured in the Festival Playlist, and the weekly hunt is a Festival Playlist entry. It reveals Bonus Boards, Barn Finds, Regional Mascots, Treasure Chests and Treasure Cars instead.
How much is one Treasure Hunt worth?
100,000 CR and 3 Festival Playlist points on every hunt we have a reward figure for. Some sites also quote an XP number; we could not confirm that in a source we trust, so it is not on this page.
I unlocked the Treasure Hunter achievement — was that this?
No, and the naming is genuinely unhelpful. Treasure Hunter is for collecting all nine Treasure Cars, which sit on the map permanently and never move the Festival Playlist. The weekly hunt is a separate entry you complete by smashing a chest.
What happens to this week’s chest on Thursday?
It is replaced. The Playlist rolls over at 14:30 UTC and the hunt entry goes with it. Whether a chest you had already uncovered but not smashed survives that rollover is claimed all over the guide sites and we could not find one player report or official statement behind it, so we do not repeat it.
Where to next
The Italian Exotics series, week by week
Which weeks of the Italian Exotics series carried a treasure hunt, which region each chest sat in, and the one week that ran a collectible instead of a hunt.
Which car the hunt needs, and which it gives
Neither, as it turns out. Search the 31 priced Playlist cars to see where each one actually comes from, and why none of them comes from a chest.
What a chest is actually worth
100,000 CR and three Playlist points, priced against the official reward ladder. Four chests a series is twelve points and the cheapest reward costs fifteen, so the credits are the real prize.
Explorer stamps, and the cars they hold back
A separate track from the weekly chest: seven rungs of Discover Japan Points, each releasing more barn finds. Put your total in to see how far the next one is.
The full archive
6 hunts logged so far, each with its own sources and whether we have been out to check it — including the ones we only have a partial record of.
This week, as a status board
Whether the current chest has been confirmed yet, the seven steps from opening the Playlist entry to smashing it, and what the last reset actually took away.
Browse by region
Snow, coast, city — the terrain changes how you search. No region is in dispute between sources — none has been re-checked by us in game yet either.
How we check a location
Every entry names its sources and says whether we re-checked it ourselves. Here is what those labels mean, and what we do when sources disagree.
The reading method, on past photos
The diagram above, worked through on the hunts already in the archive rather than on this week's — so it stays useful after Thursday.
Nothing spawned where we said
Six symptoms, each with a different cause, and two of them marked unverified because the widely-quoted fixes trace back to nobody.
Field notes
The things we could not settle — starting with a region name four outlets use that the region lists do not have.
