Nangan
One chest on record here · 4 landmarks both sources agree on · 25 mascots
Region facts below are second-hand, sourced inline. Never re-checked in game. Why that matters.
The one chest set in Nangan
Nangan got a chest in Series 3 Summer and we still cannot tell you where it sat. The region is the reason: 25 mascots, the joint-highest count on the map, spread over four named landmarks, the joint-lowest. VGC describes a much smaller rural area with a beachfront airport at its southern base, and neither landmark list names that airport at all — so even the one feature a photograph would obviously frame is not a place we can point you to.

25 mascots, four landmarks
25 mascots, themed on Tempura, out of 200 across the map. One barn find: the Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R, behind the Blue Stamp.

Small, southern, and short on signposts
Small and rural in the south — a beachfront airport and the Irokawa Space Centre.
VGC calls Nangan a much smaller rural area with a beachfront airport at its southern base, and singles out one collectible tucked away in the northwest next to farmland.
Gamereactor notes that the last race here is the Drag Race near the space centre — the Irokawa Space Centre is one of the four landmarks both lists agree on.
4 named places both lists put in Nangan
- Irokawa Space Centre
- Jodogahama Beach
- Hakone Nanamagari
- Kawazu Nanadaru Loop Bridge
The two lists agree on all four, down to which region they are in — the only region where that is true besides Hokubu. They spell two of them differently (Centre / Center, Nandaru / Nanadaru), which is a house-style difference rather than a disagreement.
Nangan is 南岸地域 in a Japanese client
南岸地域は、ビーチや崖沿いのシーサイドロード、小規模な漁港町が広がる南部の沿岸エリア。
Two sources, and Japanese search suggests it alongside 宝探し. 地域一覧.
Asked about Nangan
Where is the airport VGC mentions?
We cannot tell you. VGC places a beachfront airport at Nangan’s southern base; neither landmark list names an airport in this region. The only airfield either list names is Ito Airfield, in a different region entirely.
25 collectibles in a small region — is that unusual?
It is the sharpest density on the map. Tokyo City, Takashiro, Ohtani and Ito also have 25, and all four are described as large. Nangan is described as small and has the same count.
Where was the Nangan chest?
Unresolved, and we would rather say that than pick. Game8 puts a Nangan chest on the shore at the east of the region, near the Ford GT Treasure Car. The PC Gamer and Traxion write-ups are reported to put one by the warehouses north-east of the Irokawa Space Centre; both refused to open for us, so we are not citing contents we have not read. Nangan may have hosted two hunts in different series, which would make both right.
What is confirmed about that week, then?
The region, the reward and the window. TheXboxHub’s Series 3 Summer challenge list names the Nangan Region, 3 points, 100,000 credits, no car restriction, for 16–23 July 2026. That is the part with a source we read ourselves.
Regions with cleaner records
Hokubu
The only other region where the two landmark lists agree completely — and the one that shows what that agreement is worth when a chest actually turns up.
Ito
Where the map’s only named airfield is, which is worth knowing before you go looking for the one VGC puts down here.
Minamino
The other small rural region with four landmarks and a chest on record — except there the sources name one hole on one golf course, in two languages, and agree.
Chest not showing up?
A chest whose location nobody agrees on is the sort that gets called broken. The three things FH6 calls treasure are worth separating first.
